The government of Kenya is actively pursuing a long-term environmental agenda focused on increasing forest cover and combating climate change through large-scale tree planting initiatives. The most prominent of these is the "15 billion trees growing agenda", launched with the goal of planting 15 billion trees over 10 years to increase forest cover from 8.8% to 30% by 2032.
