CLE Staff Participate in Tree Planting Exercise in Support of National Tree Growing Initiative

Earlier today, staff members from the Council of Legal Education (CLE) participated in a tree planting exercise at Kona Baridi, Kajiado County, in support of the Presidential Directive on the National Tree Growing Initiative.

The initiative forms part of a national effort aimed at restoring Kenya’s forest cover and promoting environmental sustainability. Through this activity, CLE reaffirms its commitment to contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for the country, in line with national priorities on climate action and environmental conservation.

The tree planting exercise reflects the Council’s recognition of the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding the environment for present and future generations. It also underscores CLE’s broader commitment to integrating sustainability principles into its institutional values and practices.

As aptly captured by environmentalist Prof. Wangari Maathai:“We owe it to ourselves and to the next generation to conserve the environment so that we can bequeath our children a sustainable world that benefits all.”

By participating in this initiative, the Council of Legal Education continues to take meaningful steps towards environmental conservation and climate action, while supporting national efforts to build a resilient and sustainable Kenya.
